My friend Nancy Watts wrote me to remind me that it was God who was the first tailor. Thanks Nancy. Genesis 3:21 says "And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife."

Psalm 90:17
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us; and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
As our Viking III licensed teachers finished their work this week, I was in awe of the beauty of their sewn creations. Sewing is beauty and I think we need the joy of beauty in the world today. Well, actually in the world always. Sewing is beauty. Not only the beauty of the finished product but the beauty of the process. I always pray while I sew. I have always felt that sewing was a Godly thing to do. All through the Bible women sewed. Actually it looks like Adam sewed also! Maybe the first tailor? God is the author of beauty. In my life I believe God gave me sewing to show me the beauty of a craft but more importantly to show me the beauty of an activity which has brought me great healing during times of distress, great joy during good and bad times, and a great connection to women in the past who created things of beauty with their hands and machines to pass on for our joy today. God is the source of creativity and I thank God for the joy of sewing and thank God for my sewing machines. I thank God for this newly licensed group of ladies who made such beautiful things this week and learned many new skills to take home and enjoy forever. These beautiful ladies brought great joy to my life this week and I thank them for coming. God is good all the time.

To Start Your Day
Isaiah 41:13
For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not: I will help thee.
Just wanted to say good morning and to share these very true words with you as you start your week. I am finishing up the personal letter for my newsletter which goes out tonight. You simply will not believe the machine embroidered wedding gown which Judy from Washington has made. I am so honored that she calls it the Martha Pullen Wedding Gown. I used this scripture for one of my scriptures yesterday in the Sunday School class at the licensing. I wish all of you could be here. God Bless, Martha

How Have I Earned Money?
Since a blog is personal I thought you might find these facts rather interesting. How have I earned money throughout my life? Here goes: clothing saleslady, shoe saleslady, dance studio teacher/owner, prize money from several beauty contests, professional actress in NC summer stock, runway model, photograhic model, English teacher, Drama teacher, College professor, government contractor cleaning shopping carts at Redstone Arsonal, professional Christian speaker, professional speaker on using the newspaper to teach everything from kindergarten to high school, alterations lady, sewing teacher, president of Martha Pullen Company, business owner, writer, business consultant and Christmas wrapping person. If I think of others I will surely share.
First Post
I never believed I could set up a blog all by myself! Here it is! We are having a wonderful Viking III licensing at this time at the Holiday Inn. Ladies here from all over the country as well as Canada. I am thinking about-notice I said thinking about not doing-revising my business book Turn Your Hobby Into Money which has been out of print many years. Soon I hope to schedule some time. I am thinking about changing the title to Hobby to Profit Through G.R.A.C.E which was my original title. G.R.A.C.E. is my business philosophy which I talk about lots in the book. Grace= God, R= Resilience, A=Action (dreams without a plan of action will get one nowhere), C=Creativity, E= Enthusiasm. Right now the revision is just a dream. Action is what I need to make this happen.
One a personal note. Joe bathed Bobbin this morning. I dried him with a hair dryer and he absolutely adores being dried with a hair dryer. He will sit still as long as you keep the hair dryer going. And you know Bobbin (rat terrior) does not sit still very much.
I have a new granny van that seats 8 people! I have never been so excited about a vehicle. Since we have 18 grandchildren-14 live in Huntsville-I plan to drive a van for the rest of my life.
I'll stop writing and see if I can get this post up on my blog. I have no idea that it will or won't.
